Day Two: WOW
LONG DAY! Seriously..... Long day! Got a late start. Had to fix the engine cover that busted yesterday and get a new brake light for the truck.
628 miles, and got to Amarillo around 1:45 am. Long day from my sisters place in Arkansas. Annie Grace and Julie (my nieces) are too cute. Long first part of the day, but the ever frequent stops for gas.....every 158.1 miles (as per yesterday) was greatly needed and exciting. Through Oklahoma and saw this giant wind farm. Jolie cooked dinner (PB&J). It was nice to hang there for an hour or so.
Very cool, almost cold at night. I was super cold rolling into town, which was a nice change. Rigged up a back rest with sleeping bags that allowed me to ride semi-comfortably.
I had a couple of first for me today. I sneezed, yawned, even pasted gas......had a pleasant rain experience.... Light and cooled me off. It was REAL hot during the day. It was fun to take pretty pictures and hang on the side of the road. Everyone who drive by was like.... "What the hell are you doing" and we were like "chillin' Miss my babies today. Heading to Colorado tomorrow. Peace!

Hey Sam-
ReplyDeleteGreat photos-I am loving the updates. Keep it up! What is the inspiration for the trip? Ewan and Charlie or something else? Be safe and take care.
Joe
THANK YOU guys so much for the daily pictures and updates! I am going to LOVE going on this adventure with you guys! so much fun. be safe and hear from you soon. - Amanda Gargus :)
ReplyDeleteDude, if you haven't already, be sure to bring spare gas tanks in the truck. 158 miles will barely get you to gas stations once you get into Wyoming and Montana. Fill up any time you can because gas stations are a loooooong way apart. Don't let the truck get below half empty either!
ReplyDeleteWay to go my man! Sounds like a great trip, nice snaps, nicer light!! Have fun my friend, keep it straight and hit you later, I have to go shoot safety cables on the I-440.
ReplyDeleteSanford
Love the updates. Can't wait to see where you land next.
ReplyDeleteBy the way could you ship some of that awesome light from the wind farm back here. One light I'm guessing.....right?
Larry
