Day 21:
Santa Nella, Cali. to Los Angeles, Cali - via Hwy 1 and the 101
Got to sleep around 4am and slowly woke about 10:30 am to one of the hardest beds in the world, along I melted in the center. Showered and Jolie requested an extra hour that was granted. Got on the road heading for Montery. Traffic was crazy bad, the 60 mile drive took over two hours. Finally got to the famous hwy 1 (PCH) and was it more amazing than I ever imagined. It was totally worth the extra day to do. We only did the way southern section for the sake of time.
Around every twist and turn a different movie backdrop unfolded. Totally awesome! Had fish and chips in Big Sur, which reminded me alot of the road the Ocoee River in Tennessee, except for the red woods and the ocean. Just beautiful.
Got stuck behind a guy going about 10 mph for about 15 miles and Jolie (driving) almost lost her mind, but past to see a beach with Elephant Seals chill'in on a beach. Real cool..... We decided they were about as cool as a black bear in Alaska..... Totally cool, but they always hang there, almost like a zoo.
There were a couple "fighting" if you know what I mean in the water.... at least that is what some parents next to us called it.......
They were real cool. A first for me.
We met back up with the 101 and still had over 200 miles to LA. The forst 10 had taken almost 7 hours, with the traffic and frequent stops. Dang!
We trudged on and are pulling into LA about midnight. Jolie best friend Christi lives here and I am going to see my good friend Ross tomorrow. We are spending a full day here before the long journey east....
WOW! LA..... I stick out like a..... well I stick out!
