Day 9 (sorry it is late)- Toad RIver, Yukon to Skagway, AK, USA

Day 9
The day started off very beautiful- like all of our days. We covered a lot of ground and made it to our destination- Skagway, ALASKA!!! The drive wasn’t bad and we say several bears, a few buffalo, and a handful of mountain goats.
The most interesting part of the day was driving over White Pass into Skagway. I think it was the prettiest yet. Then it got cold and I thought it was raining, but it was really just extremely thick, very eerie fog. The fog was so thick that I missed the welcome sign ( that sits about 15 ft. off the road) and lost sam- he was at the sign waiting for me and taking pictures for some other travelers.
When we got to the border, I was so excited and said something to the border guy about driving through the clouds and I must have been grinning from ear to ear because he looked at me like I was about 5 years old and said “did you like that?”
Yeeh, Skagway! I’m excited to see all the places that sam has talked about over the years!!

Made it to the southern part of AK. Feel good, cold and more cold.
Peace
Sam

  1. If I could *like* your "Alaska Bound" duct tape fingerless gloves, Sam, I totally would. The pics are lovely and your adventure looks amazing!
